On Sunday, I went to watch Dublin in Croke Park with more excitement than any time since I stopped playing. There were a couple of reasons for this. Firstly, I feel I have now made the transition from player to observer and, more importantly, I have accepted it. When you retire, it takes a while to achieve that acceptance so every match becomes an examination of your own feelings. Would I like to be out there? Could I still be out there?
