Who funded the purchase of Fota Island Resort and where is the paper trail, are proving to be key questions in a €50 million shareholder battle unfolding in the High Court. The five star hotel and spa, set on 500 acres, was sold on behalf of Nama for around €20 million in 2013 to the Kang Family Worldwide Group. The sale of the Kingsley family hotel in Cork city and other assets to the same group soon followed.
