Private equity played a disproportionately big part in Irish mergers and acquisitions (M&A) in 2019, according to data from the Consumer Protection and Competition Commission (CPCC). Nine Irish companies were bought by private equity investors in 2019. The deals amount of 18 per cent of all M&A notified to the CPCC during the year, compared to private equity’s 10 per cent share of global M&A.
