The Revenue Commissioners are to review serious allegations around confectionary company Broderick’s eligibility to receive subsidies totalilng €599,000, under the state’s Covid-19 business support schemes. Revenue’s position emerged during day two of a contested High Court petition to appoint an examiner to Ina’s Kitchen, the company behind Broderick’s brand, amid disputed claims that the company is running on empty with debts of €9 million and will almost certainly go into liquidation without a rescue package.
