An EU competition probe into the National Broadband Plan wrapped up at the end of 2024 with Brussels finding in favour of the State scheme in a complaint taken by a smaller broadband provider. It marks the end, at least for now, of a five-year odyssey for regional broadband provider Wireless Connect in its challenge to the National Broadband Plan under EU competition law.
