The emergency accommodation system introduced to tackle the chronic lack of housing for Ukrainian refugees and others seeking protection in Ireland is proving lucrative to many companies.   A recent analysis by The Business Post showed that the State paid out €1.8 billion to over 800 companies last year for accommodation services.
