The Department of Housing will now offer homeowners impacted by the defective concrete block scandal the opportunity to have their remediation options reviewed after scientific research points to pyrrhotite as the key cause of damage rather than mica.  The €2.7 billion defective concrete block grant scheme helps affected homeowners with the costs of demolishing or remediating damaged houses.
