Newly released inspection files show a company embroiled in a legal challenge with the Environmental Protection Agency for alleged large-scale peat extraction without an agency licence is still working the site in question. The environmental watchdog is seeking a criminal prosecution against Clairstone Co Ltd and its director David Joseph Kelly. Clairstone Co was set up in 1986 and sells milled peat for professional horticulture and home gardening compost. The peat is milled on a section of the Carbury bog complex.
