Seven years ago Niall McGrath was on holiday with family in Italy enjoying a pizza. His seven-year-old son started drawing a pizza-based cartoon figure which he named Slicey.  McGrath, an experienced food entrepreneur and marketeer, was struck by the name and wondered if he could build a brand around it.  When he got home he registered the name everywhere in the world bar the United States.
