The operator of Kippure Lodge in Co Wicklow has applied for retention planning in a bid to keep accommodation built at the holiday village without permission which the local authority has ordered must be demolished. The company, Seefin Events Unlimited, is currently using the site as a reception centre for displaced persons seeking asylum. It plans to return the holiday village near Blessington Lake and the Wicklow Mountains to its original tourism and recreation offering in the future.
