Last weekend’s German State election results in Saxony and Thuringia resulted in a huge political shift. Voters in both regions changed their allegiances in a big way. The AfD party had the largest vote share in Thuringia at 32.8 per cent and it received the second largest vote share in Saxony at 30.6 per cent. This is a pretty seismic achievement for a party which was only founded in 2013.
