The Revenue Commissioners has lodged High Court proceedings against the owners of the Stillorgan Orchard pub, a distinctive thatched roof bar in south Dublin at the centre of a recent planning controversy. The Strand Gastro Pubs is controlled fifty-fifty by John Martin and Applegreen boss Bob Etchingham – through his company Belgrave Capital Ltd. They sparked local objections when they submitted plans last May to demolish the landmark pub and build 41 apartments in two blocks.
