New figures released by the Government reveal RTÉ spent €1.1 million on external reports into the controversies that engulfed the broadcaster over the past year. Three reports commissioned by the audit and risk committee of RTÉ’s board from Grant Thornton examined payments to Ryan Tubridy, the use of the barter account system and opaque decision-making around the failed Toy Show The Musical.
