Israel’s ambassador to Ireland, Dana Elrich, believes there’s a lot of potential in the nations’ bilateral relations but that a public mood of hostility here makes this problematic. While speaking to Reuters on Monday from Jerusalem, recalled to Israel in protest at Ireland’s decision to recognise Palestine as a sovereign nation, she warned that this mood threatened the $5 billion (€4.6 billion) in annual trade between the two countries.
