When Ireland recently joined an international agreement to tackle the misuse of spyware, this country was in the spotlight after an Irish-registered company had just been sanctioned by the US. Ireland and several countries inked the agreement that is aimed at coordinating international efforts to tackle commercial spyware vendors that sell their hacking tools to authoritarian governments.
