Garrett Kelleher, the Irish property developer, has settled a $65 million Liberian civil war lawsuit against one of the world’s largest insurance companies, in a dispute stretching back to 1990 and relating to a claim for damages by a Liberian firm. In a United States court filing last night Cigna Worldwide (CWW), a subsidiary of Chubb, said: “CWW and Mr Kelleher have entered into a settlement agreement.”  The insurance giant had been seeking a $15 million judgement against Kelleher, one of Ireland’s most experienced developers.
