A well-known south Dublin law firm which was forced to stop practising following a €1.7 million deficit in its client account, is now being pursued through the High Court by Revenue’s collector general.  Thomas Montgomery and Sons, a third generation law firm in Dun Laoghaire, has been through repeated incidents of turmoil since 2015 when the High Court first imposed a restriction on the firm’s then managing partner David Montgomery.  The sanction was intended to prevent David Montgomery, who died tragically in October 2022, from handling client funds by prohibiting him from acting as a signatory on client accounts. It followed…
