Stormont’s Parliament Buildings, set in wooded parkland on the outskirts of Belfast, are an outstanding reminder of Northern Ireland’s potential and intransigence. In the west of the city, in nationalist heartland, sits another spectacular reminder of stalemate and foot-dragging. Casement Park is supposed to be a standard bearer of GAA activism and engagement and the venue for the Ulster senior football championship final each year.
