The board of Scouting Ireland was told last month that the youth organisation is on a financial precipice as it faces a mounting number of legal cases that will cost millions to deal with. By the financial year 2024-2025, Scouting Ireland could face a bill of more than €4 million in cash to deal with the first tranche of cases out of a total of 103 claims and threatened claims identified by law firm Masons Hayes & Curran as of October 2022.
