According to Dr Thomas Armstrong, whether an individual is regarded as disabled or gifted depends largely on when and where they were born. In India, for example, some people who are regarded as holy beings would be labelled as schizophrenic in the West.  So it goes for our perceptions of neurodiverse conditions.
